Jarvis Cocker was born in Sheffield on the 19th September 1963, he grew up with his sister Saskia and was brought up by his mother. His father played no real part in his child other than not really being there at all. This is probably why Cocker is more interested in what women have to say and there opinions. His father is a successful DJ who lives in Australia, Cocker and his sister went to visit him in 1998 - and were probably disappointed. Cocker is said to have forgiven his father saying "I don't feel any bitterness towards him at all. I feel sorry for him."
